Anybody who has attended one of our Thinking Outside workshops will recognize this cart. Each time I venture outside with students, out it comes too. Inside are some nature-based learning essentials:
a first aid kit, emergency contact information, any medication for students (e.g., Epi-pen), and a walkie-talkie or cell phone.
In addition, it contains tools for:
observing (e.g., binoculars, magnifying glasses, embroidery hoops, empty picture frames, etc.),
collecting (e.g., empty egg cartons, small metal buckets, ice cube trays, containers, etc.),
and recording (e.g., journals, clipboards, pencils & markers, iPad for documentation, etc.).
